ELS27 v5 Adapter
Item no.: 23E2000- Adapter in the OBD-II casing
ELS27 v5 is a new car diagnostic adapter that combines full compatibility with ELM327, high reliability and speed of work with on-board networks of the car. The device supports work with CAN-bus and K-L-lines of cars. Can be used for diagnostics of various car systems, reading/resetting fault codes (DTC), enabling/disabling additional functions, modules and much more. Due to high quality of workmanship and stable operation, as well as low cost, the adapter has received wide recognition among repair specialists and owners of Ford and Mazda cars.
ELS27 adapter updates:
- New case
- USB Type-C
- Additional CAN on pins 12/13.
The protocol scheme has been revised and the connection (jumper) Pin 8 - Pin 9, as well as Pin 7 - Pin 12, has been removed. The mechanical relay has also been replaced with a separate transceiver and another one has been added for the CAN line on pins 12/13 (often used in Renault).
- FEPS on pin 13
Flash and EEPROM Programming Signal (FEPS) is a signal for switching ECU units to programming mode. It is used for Ford units manufactured before 2011.
- Flashlight
- LEDs on both sides of the case (if there is a wireless module)
- Buttons on the case for the wireless module
R - reset, resetting the module settings. M - mode, WiFi or Bluetooth mode (depending on the mode, the corresponding LED (B or W) next to the button lights up. Attention! This lot does not have a built-in wireless module!
- Modular structure of the adapter
The board with the processor and the interface board are two different boards, which means we can "update" earlier versions of adapters starting with v3.0 to v5.0.
- New silicone wire with PD 100W (Power Delivery)
The adapter supports the following car protocols:
Standard OBDII
- ISO 15765-4 (CAN)
- ISO 14230-4 (Keyword Protocol 2000 - KWP2000)
- ISO 9141-2 (Asian, European, Chrysler)
- SAE J1850 VPW (General Motors vehicles)
- SAE J1850 PWM (Ford vehicles)
Non-standard OBDII
- ISO 15765
- ISO 11898 (raw CAN)
- GMLAN Single Wire CAN (GMW3089)
- Ford Medium Speed CAN (MS CAN)
Operating Rules
It is prohibited to:
- Connect the adapter to 24V on-board networks;
- When working with the adapter, use chargers of the "cigarette lighter" type that do not have a galvanic connection between the vehicle ground and the negative contact of the computer power plug;
- Leave the adapter in the vehicle socket for a long time without supervision.
Type-A --- Micro-B USB cable is 1 m long and has silicon coating and metal connectors. It remains elastic at negative temperatures which is useful while working in winter. The length of the cable will not allow to work from the passenger seat.
ELS27 is a new diagnostic adapter combining full compatibility with ELM327, high reliability and speed while working with the vehicle network. The device supports work via CAN bus and K-L lines.
Application areas: diagnostics of various vehicle systems, reading/resetting fault codes (DTC), enabling/disabling additional functions, modules and much more. Thanks to its high quality of manufacture and stable performance, as well as its low cost, the adapter has been widely recognized among repair professionals and owners of Ford and Mazda cars.
The ELS27 v4.0 diagnostic adapter is designed on the basis of the STN2120 chip, which allows you to realize all the functions of the ELM327 adapter, but:
- It supports two data buses — HS CAN and MS CAN — without switches and toggle switches;
- It works several times faster (up to 10 times, according to the chip developer);
- It supports SW CAN bus (used in General Motors cars);
- It supports MM CAN bus (used in Focus 3 and Mondeo 4);
- It supports firmware update so that any identified issues can be resolved by the developer;
- It supports sending multi-line messages;
- It has a working Reset NVM (settings reset), so it is almost impossible to disable the adapter programmatically.
Main features:
- The assembly is mainly based on Prolific PL-2303HXD (as well as rev2.0);
- FTDI FT232RQ support (as well as rev2.0);
- The adapter is always powered via OBD, but can also be powered via USB when the vehicle network is not available;
- It has all the useful features of previous revisions;
- There is a built-in K-line module on L9637D with ALDL support (5V K-line);
- Prolific version works at 1M, 2M, 4M and 8M speeds and of course with lower speeds.
Attention: This is an original adapter from the developers, manufactured in Russia and tested for compliance with all standards.
