ELS27 v5.2 Full
Item no.: 23E4000- ELS27 v5.2 Adapter
- Type-C cable + adapter

The ELS27 v5.2 is a new automotive diagnostic adapter that combines full ELM327 compatibility with high reliability and speed of operation with vehicle on-board networks. The device supports the CAN bus and K-L lines of vehicles. Applications include diagnosing various vehicle systems, reading and clearing fault codes (DTCs), enabling and disabling additional functions and modules, and much more. Thanks to its high build quality and stable operation, as well as its low cost, the adapter has gained widespread recognition among repair specialists and owners of Ford and Mazda vehicles.
It is based on the FTDI FT232RL chip, the L9637D, and a Wi-Fi module. A USB Type-C to Type-C cable and a Type-A adapter are included.
The following changes have been made since version 5.0:
The "B" LED is now blue, not orange as in the v5.0 adapters, where the LEDs are powered by 3.3V, which is insufficient for blue LEDs with a voltage drop of 3.2V-3.8V.
The CAN bus on OBD pins 6/14 (the engine control unit bus) is connected directly to the transceiver. This change is not intended to improve anything (although it does add some stability), but it brings the circuit design closer to a "correct" implementation, where the main bus is always in place.
The backlight (flashlight) turns off when OBD power is restored.
CAN support on the following OBD pins (HI/LO):
- 3-11 (default)
- 1-8
- 12-13
- 13-12
- 1-9
- 3-8
ATTENTION! Switching between buses on these pins must be implemented in the software. The adapter does not have terminating resistors (bus terminators). These must be provided for use with desktop units.
- Compatibility with Wi-Fi modules is the same as v5.0, but the ability to update 16Mb Wi-Fi via wire is added (the v5.0 adapter only updates 4Mb via wire due to differences in the module's processor).
The ELS27 v5.2 adapter supports the following vehicle protocols:
Standard OBDII
- ISO 15765-4 (CAN)
- ISO 14230-4 (Keyword Protocol 2000 - KWP2000)
- ISO 9141-2 (Asian, European, Chrysler)
- SAE J1850 VPW (General Motors vehicles)
- SAE J1850 PWM (Ford vehicles)
Non-Standard OBDII
- ISO 15765
- ISO 11898 (raw CAN)
- GMLAN Single Wire CAN (GMW3089)
- Ford Medium Speed CAN (MS CAN)
