The 120D is powered by a four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that produces 190 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. It has a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in around 7.5 seconds.
The BMW 1 Series 120D is known to have issues with its Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), which can become clogged over time and cause the engine warning light to come on. This is a common problem in diesel engines, particularly those used for short journeys, as the DPF doesn't get a chance to regenerate properly.
